How to Set Up IPTV on Apple TV

Apple TV 4K is the quietest, cleanest way to run Star IPTV USA: no sideloading, no Downloader app, no developer mode. Everything installs straight from the App Store. Here is the full walkthrough with the current Smarters Player Lite build.

What you need before you start

• An Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K (2021 model or newer recommended for 4K channels).
• Your username, password and portal URL from the Star IPTV USA welcome email.
• A 25 Mbps connection for HD, 40 Mbps+ for 4K. Wired ethernet is ideal on the 4K model.

Step 1 — Install Smarters Player Lite

Open the App Store on your Apple TV, search for Smarters Player Lite, and install it. It is a free, notarised App Store download — you do not need a computer, Xcode or a sideloading tool.

Step 2 — Log in with Xtream Codes

1. Launch the app and accept the terms.
2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
3. Type any name you like in "Any Name" (for example: Star IPTV).
4. Enter your username and password exactly as they appear in the email — they are case-sensitive.
5. Paste the portal URL including http:// and the port number.
6. Press Add User and wait while the guide downloads.

Step 3 — Tune the picture

• In the app settings, set the stream format to HLS for the smoothest 4K playback on tvOS.
• Turn on Auto-play last channel if you want live TV the second the box wakes.
• Set Apple TV's video output to Match Content — Frame Rate so 50 Hz European sports feeds do not judder.

Alternative apps on tvOS

iPlayTV and GSE Smart IPTV are both on the App Store and work with the same credentials. Smarters Player Lite is the one we support first because its EPG handling matches our server layout.

If a channel will not load

• Force-quit the app (double-click TV button, swipe up) and reopen it — the token refreshes.
• Check you are not already streaming on another device with a single-connection plan.
